Here are pages 5 & 6 of my Turtle Dove mini for Ideal Papercraft….

I’ve used a background of the old, tattered paper from the reverse of Drummers, (you can just see it in the store photo), and added a punched border of green and gold script from the 6.5” Paper Pad. The border is only stuck down on three of the edges, making pockets to insert journalling tags and/or photos.

First, the 28th of December.

I stamped the tree in the bottom corner using Vintage Photo Distrss Ink and embossed it with Clear embossing enamel. The stamp is from the Turtle Dove Clear Stamp Set. This range has a sheet of tags – called To Froms – some are large and some smaller. I have used three of these here – the smaller one on top of the pocket. Each one has a different way of dealing with the hole in the top. The smallest one is just a brad inserted throught he hole, the second also has a brad, but this one is larger and has a cream rose stuck to the top of it. The third simply has a piece of brown and gold braid.

The extras on this page are the date, created using two stickers from the 12×12 Numbers Sticker Sheet, the cherries from the Collectables pack, some small paper roses and some Dusty Attic Chipboard. The Bird Nest #1 is inked with Walnut Stain distress ink, the Mini Bird #1 is embossed with Red Blush AED embossing powder and the three eggs are embossed with Stampendous Shabby White embossing powder. The roses are Kaisercraft Paper Mini Blooms.

The 29th December has the same background.

Another Chipboard Mini Bird is sitting on a die cut from the Collectables pack. One of the two tags/photo mats is a small piece I had left over after using the beautifu Glimmer Die Cut on another project, and the other is a tag from the 6.5” Paper Pad.
I cut a small piece of background matching paper from the reverse of Drummers and folded in half to form a sort of book for journalling at the bottom of the page. I accented the spine on the inside with a punched red strip from the 6.5” Paper Pad and added a small tag from To Froms.

The large clock brad at the top of this tag forms a closure for the top of the page when it is folded over and also the circle part of a rosette where the date is formed by the two ribbon stickers from the ‘12×12 Numbers Sticker Sheet. Also decorating the front there is a cute row of cherries from the manufacturer’s strip on Pipers, ”Notes” is stamped and clear embossed, and an Ideaology Pen Nib is sitting just above the word. This nib was a bit too silvery for the page so I pushed it into my embossing ink and dipped it in gold embossing powder. After heating it (and waiting a bit for it to cool down of course! LOL!)  I wiped some of the gold off with a paper towel.

Thanks for dropping in 🙂
