Wow, what a lovely selection of cards in the gallery at Ideal Papercraft for Week 1 of the Christmas Card Challenge! I was too slow to get mine in…but hopefully this week I’ll have a chance to get it finished and take a pic….my country is China…all that lovely red and gold!

But first things first – the Challenge for Week 2 is mine….

Your mission is to make a pop-up card…any variety, any colour you like, but make it for a child. So add some cute animals or birds and a bit of glitter here and there.

Here’s my example – A Surprise Pop Up Card. You pull the ribbon at the top which is attached to a tag, the surprise message is revealed and the pretty kitty stands up. Very cute 🙂There is actually a bit of glitter on here too, but the photos don’t show it. The white fluff on the Santa hat is covered with Rock Candy Distress Stickles and the hat itself shimmers a little because it’s painted with Twinkling H2O’s. You can write your message on the tag to make a lying-flat card, or make it an opening card and write on the inside – both ways work just as well.

Try these links  to find help and how-to’s for a pop-up card . The first is to Splitcoast Stampers who have masses of fabulous tutorials and the second is You Tube where you can find a video tutorial for almost anything!

Have your entries in the Gallery by midnight next Monday night to be in the running for a cool prize 🙂
